From ordinary water to living water.
It starts with something completely ordinary — a bottle of water handed to someone on a hot day in the nation's capital. No pressure, no transaction. Just a small kindness, freely given.
But on the label is an invitation. Because the same Jesus who handed people bread and water also said something the world has never stopped needing to hear: that He offers a different kind of water — one that actually satisfies. Ordinary Water exists to put that invitation into people's hands, one bottle at a time.
“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” — John 4:14
Our mission
“To meet people in the ordinary moments of life in Washington, DC — and offer them the living water of Jesus, plainly, warmly, and freely.”
A milestone year, and a far older invitation
This year the nation marks 250 years. Over the summer, millions of people will walk the monuments and museums of Washington, DC — many of them genuinely thirsty in the heat of it.
We wanted to meet them right there: a cold bottle of water, freely given, and on the label an invitation to something far older than 250 years — and freely given too. Anniversaries remind us that some things last. The good news of Jesus is the one that lasts longest of all.
What drives us
Radical hospitality
We meet people in the ordinary — the heat of a DC summer, a long line at a monument, a cold bottle of water — with genuine warmth and no strings attached. Kindness first, always.
The plain good news
We don't complicate it. Four symbols, real Scripture, and an honest invitation. The gospel is good news — it should sound like it, and anyone should be able to follow it.
Unwavering hope
In a city built on shifting power and changing seasons, we point people to the one thing that never runs dry. Our confidence isn't in a campaign — it's in Christ.
